After constructing buzz over his one-man exhibits on Anna Wintour, Andy Cohen and Martha Stewart, chameleon performer Ryan Raftery is popping his consideration to Calvin Klein.
The performer’s newest “biomusical” known as “The Obsession of Calvin Klein,” and kicks off on Oct. 28 at Joe’s Pub, we hear.
It’s impressed by “Black Swan” and, in accordance with a blurb: “Obsessive about a crushing paranoia that childhood good friend and fellow mega-designer Ralph Lauren is intent on sabotage, Calvin Klein and henchwoman Donna Karan scheme to make sure the continued reign over his black-and-white empire of perfection.”
In Raftery’s fictionalized world, “Calvin is so overcome with the concept that Ralph is out to get him within the ’80s, that he needs there have been one other American designer on their degree to throw him off of his scent.”
