A 65-year-old dump truck driver died Thursday in Commerce Metropolis when his truck backed off of a 20-foot embankment, flipping the wrong way up and crushing the cab.

Rescue staff had been referred to as about 2:50 p.m. to East 80th Avenue and Brighton Boulevard, mentioned Maria Carabajal, a South Adams County Fireplace Division spokeswoman.

Firefighters reduce by the wreckage to free the motive force, who was pronounced lifeless on the scene. He was not recognized.
