CHEYENNE — A metropolis in Wyoming has settled a lawsuit over a deadly taking pictures by two cops.

Attorneys for the property of John Randall Veach stated Tuesday they settled the lawsuit for $925,000 in damages.

Rawlins police Sgt. Jared Frakes and Officer Joe Balestrieri shot and killed the Fort Collins man in a fuel station parking zone in December 2015.

A prosecutor from a county elsewhere in Wyoming concluded the taking pictures was justified. Attorneys for Veach’s property say the officers killed him “execution fashion” whereas he was making an attempt to drive away. They are saying the officers weren’t in peril and killed Veach with out motive.

They are saying the division did not self-discipline its officers.

Rawlins Metropolis Legal professional Amy Bach and Metropolis Supervisor Scott Hannum didn’t instantly return telephone messages searching for remark.
