June is LGBTQ+ Pleasure Month and the Denver Zoo is celebrating a same-sex couple amongst its flock: Two male flamingos.
Zoo employees mentioned the birds, a Chilean flamingo named after *NSYNC boy band member Lance Bass and an American flamingo named after Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, have been collectively for “a number of years.”
Although the pair clearly can’t reproduce collectively, Lance and Freddie can function surrogate dad and mom if a breeding pair is unable to take care of their very own chick, the zoo mentioned.
